Interpreter / Transcriber
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock seeks applicants for Interpreter / Transcriber (req #: 688) reporting to the Director of Disability Resource Center, who reports to the Division Chief for Student Development and the Vice Chancellor for Educational and Student Services.
Minimum qualifications include: High school diploma or GED plus one year of college credit; QAST (or equivalent) and interpreting skill level commensurate with postsecondary education setting; five years experience in the field, preferably in higher education; typing speed of at least 60 words per minute; and education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: RID Code of Professional Conduct, ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, organizational skills, communication skills (including public speaking), writing skills, and computer skills (including spreadsheet and word processing). Additional desirable qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in interpreting or related field, and national certification in interpreting. Transcriber training will be provided.
