Dr. Linda Stauffer

Biography

Linda Stauffer, Ph.D., CSC, OTC is a community interpreter with 38 years experience teaching interpreters in the UA Little Rock Interpreter Education Program, and 45+ years interpreting in the community. She served on the ARID Board of Directors for 10 years and the RID national Board of Directors for 7 years and has presented workshops locally, regionally and nationally. Currently retired, Linda continues to mentor students and remains active in the Deaf Community and ARID.

Carolyn Jolley

Biography

Carolyn Jolley, CI, CT, holds a M.Ed. degree from the University of Arkansas in Independent Living Counseling in Deafness and a Master of Arts in Deafness and Communication from Macquarie University, Australia. She was a member of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Interpreter Education faculty from August 1992 to May 2015. She taught courses in American Sign Language, Interpreting for Persons who are DeafBlind, Sign-to-Voice Interpreting, and Theory and Process of Interpretation. Carolyn is involved both professionally and socially as an Interpreter/SSP and served as a charter member of the Arkansas Deaf-blind Community (ADBC)

Jamie Lane-Ross

Biography

Jamie Lane-Ross, QAST 5/5, EIPA 4.4, and BEI Basic, is a 2010 graduate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has a bachelor’s degree in Interpreting: ASL/English and a minor in Educational Interpreting. She has been interpreting professionally for 18 years. Jamie is a licensed interpreter. She is a long time member and supporter of ADBC, ARID, RID, and NAD. Jamie’s oldest brother is Deaf, and she treasures the title of ‘SODA’ (Sibling of a Deaf Adult). She began working for Sorenson Video Relay in 2014.

Laura Arrington

Biography

Laura Arrington, CT is a graduate of the UALR Interpreter Education Program and is certified Interpreter for
the Deaf with over 28 years of experience. Laura has worked in the VRS setting for 19 years. Laura has
worked in a variety of settings r with medical interpreting being her favorite setting. Laura has served as Vice
President and President of the Arkansas Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (ARID) and is currently serving
as assistant to the Biennial Planning Committee chair.

Sydney Morriss

Biography

Sydney Morriss, NIC, graduated from UALR in 2018 with a degree in interpreting. She has been a community interpreter since 2017 and is now the Director of Operations at Communication Plus+ Interpreter Services, Inc. She is active in the Deaf Blind community and looks forward to Deaf Blind Camp every year in Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Louisiana. She mentors novice interpreters and focuses on skills development with the interns and apprentices at Communication Plus+.
